We also dive into our new friend Avallac’h, who teases and torments Geralt with a discussion of prophecy that permanently alters this series’ engagement with that subject. Finally, we stitch together a tapestry of Tolkien echoes and apparent references, before analyzing the purpose of these evocations - and building a theory about Sapkowski’s central diversion from the world of LOTR and the primacy of self-interest in our governing philosophies.
