Are you good at feeling happy? Recently I noticed that I pay a lot of attention to my negative emotions and sometimes I am much more aware of my pain than my joy. And while the goal isn’t to be happy all the time, there is a lot of value in purposefully noticing, appreciating, and cultivating more happiness in our lives. Your emotions never make you good or bad. They are just an experience. But if you want to have more of the experience of happiness in your life, you will need to make intentional decisions to create and nurture it.  In today’s podcast, I’m sharing some thoughts on how to give yourself permission to be happy. In a world where any kind of positivity can be labeled as toxic and inauthentic, it’s important to give yourself permission to enjoy your life, allow yourself to play, and let yourself develop the skill of liking things even when your brain doesn’t want to.
