It is wonderful when someone gives you some insights that spark new lessons to appear in unexpected places. This talk shares new things learned from our friend Madhavananda Prabhu on Namarasa's podcasts that sparks ever new connections between the subject of the similarities between Bhakti and Art. In one of my college art textbooks I found something that can be related to the unity and diversity of God. Therein it was stated: "Unity refers to the “oneness” or organization of similarities between elements that make up a work of art. Artists use the principle of unity to make choices that link visual elements to each other in a composition. By comparison, variety is a kind of visual diversity that brings many different ideas, media, and elements together in one composition. It is expressed in contrast and difference, which create visual interest and excitement. Sometimes artists will use the discordance of variety to create uneasy relationships between visual elements. Sometimes, too, this lack of similarity between elements can actively create a sense of unity when an artist imposes on the work a grid or other visual structure." Tapping to those contemplations of wise souls helps us put on the lens of spiritual wisdom and thus helps us to see lessons all around us.
