It's no secret that we're obsessed with true crime. In recent years, the storytelling genre has dominated television, film, books and perhaps most commonly, podcasts. Many point to the success of the 2014 podcast Serial as the genesis of this recent boom, but fascination with violent crimes and the mysteries around them goes far deeper.
