Steve Silberman is an award-winning investigative reporter who has covered science and cultural affairs for Wired and other magazines for more than 20 years. His writing has appeared in the New Yorker, Time, Nature and Salon. He is the author of Neurotribes, a study of autism that won the 2015 Samuel Johnson Prize for Non-Fiction. It is shortlisted for the Wellcome Book Prize 2016. *** The Wellcome Book Prize is an annual award, open to new works of fiction or non-fiction. To be eligible for entry, a book should have a central theme that engages with some aspect of medicine, health or illness.
