After Work Drinks - A podcast by Isabelle Truman & Grace O'Neill - Thursdays
Categories:
This week, we're talking about a rumoured Harry Styles romance that we can truly get behind; the question of whether we’re all ageing right (or completely wrong); Lizzo's long-overdue Vogue cover - and the confused personal branding of post-Megxit Harry and Meghan. Then, it's onto dissecting the This Is Paris - Paris Hilton's equal parts compelling and confusing documentary/personal branding exercise. Some points made in the documentary are prescient. Hilton rightly forces the public to reframe the frankly gross perception to the release of the infamous 'sex tape'. And she shares a harrowing story of abuse from a reform school her parents sent her to as a teenager. But parts of the documentary feel... shallow. Paris wants us to see the 'real her' - but what is it? And how do we empathise with her, while still finding her lasting obsession with money and fame... uncomfortable?
