Wiping library fines encourages teen reading

Good news for the libraries in our capital city. Wellington has seen a 48 percent increase in teenagers using library cards since the scrapping of late fees. Last year Wellington City Councillors voted unanimously to wipe more than half a million dollars worth of overdue library charges and scrap the fees altogether.
