Brandon and Artist: From 15 foster homes and hospitalization to an Aspiring musician

Aged Out: The Stories that Built Us - A podcast by SMU Child Advocacy Clinic

Brandon grew up with an abusive father and a mother addicted to drugs. When he was only 5 years old, he entered the foster care system. At the tender age of 7, Brandon was placed in a psychiatric hospital and given prescription drugs. After living in at least 15 different foster homes, Brandon aged out of the foster care system. Now a young adult and aspiring musician, Brandon speaks about his experience in foster care and how he used his experience as a call-to-action.   If you are a former foster child who aged out of the system and want to share your story, email us at [email protected]!
