It is very helpful as humanitarian and development leaders to ask ourselves about patterns we see with our team's behavior.  Once we understand the "why" behind our team's behavior, we can ask ourselves what role we have in contributing to it, and whether we want it to continue or change. Today we are going to focus on the reasons why our team asks us for advice. Why do they ask us what to do? It can be very interesting to understand why our teams ask us what to do, rather than just making decisions themselves.  Sometimes they genuinely need our help and it is best we give it, but most of the time, it's a sign of something else. I have come up with five main reasons why your team asks for your advice, and what each means about how you are doing as a leader.   Find out how your leadership may be helping or hindering your team, and ways to change it. If you'd like to learn how to lead in a more empowering way in line with your values while also creating more time in your schedule for doing what you love, sign up for the waiting list for "The Coach Approach Leadership Style" here.
