AAB 307 Midwives supporting breastfeeding my interview with Pam White

All About Breastfeeding - A podcast by Lori J. Isenstadt IBCLC

How does Pam go about helping moms initiate breastfeeding?   She really likes the baby to come right onto the moms chest for skin to skin.  She likes to stay hands off initially and just allow the mom and baby to be together.  She does offer some verbal support as the mom relaxes and enjoys her baby and offer the breast. She likes to help moms be relaxed.  Pam wants to see the babies breastfeeding within the first 2-4 hours after birth.  She keeps a close eye on things for the first 24 hours as she knows how important this window of time is to ensure that babies begin breastfeeding well.    Pam feels she is really good with early breastfeeding and the basics.   However, if a mom and baby is struggling, she is happy to refer a mom to an IBCLC. I have worked closely with some of Pams clients and I enjoy our working relationship.  Pam knows how to tell when babies are breastfeeding well and when it is not going well and is the first person to refer to an IBCLC when moms need help.    https://www.youtube.com/c/LoriIsenstadt Are you looking for help with breastfeeding? http://bit.ly/1LJEtFU Grab Your Ebook - The New Mother's Survival Guide - Practical tips for the new mother: http://bit.ly/2rGdnvM Grab your free Ebook SIgns breastfeeding is going well http://www.allaboutbreastfeeding.biz/...
