The concept of Minimal Effective Dose (MED) was introduced to me by Tim Ferris and his book the 4-Hour Body. What I talk about below is a pretty specific example, but you can apply this logic across ALL areas of your life and I do. When it comes to your Body, I wrote a full article on the subject here >>> http://ambitious.com/5-ways-to-bulletproof-your-body-for-success/ Being able to outrun things (or just the slowest person in your group) is also a useful life skill to have up your sleeve (See my Charged By A Silverback story!) If you are short on time, sprinting really gives you the most bang for your buck in terms of Minimal Effective Dose (MED). Basically if you can You should SPRINT. Incorporate some kind of intense running if not every week, every other week. I just want you to be aware of how effective sprinting is as a training tool. I understand the impact implications on your joints (grass is softer!) but if you can do it, do it. IMPORTANT – If you haven’t Sprinted in a while, make sure you do a thorough warm up and feel your way into it, YOU DO NOT WANT TO GET INJURED THE FIRST TIME!
