This episode was first published September 23, 2021 on my YouTube channel (Aquarian Diary). In 1971 Lewis F. Powell Jr., a prominent corporate attorney and soon-to-be Associate Justice of the US Supreme Court, was tasked to produce a confidential memorandum on behalf of powerful corporate interests. The corporate establishment was very concerned about the countercultural movement which arose in the 1960’s (Uranus conjunct Pluto in Virgo) which they saw as a threat to the status quo and thus their financial interests. The Powell Memo (aka the Powell manifesto) was a “… blueprint for conservative business interests to retake America.” and set out a broad strategy to influence education, the media, politics and the justice system. Viewed historically its influence - or at least its philosophical ambitions - can be seen playing out today and explains what may otherwise seem irrational or merely spontaneous to many observers.
