Using Talents for Good with Marlin Sharp

Arise with Christ - A podcast by Anjuli Plouzek, Caralee Bailey - Tuesdays

Marlin Sharp has a lifelong passion for filmmaking, both professionally and personally. He spent 40 years in Creative Services at BYU as a graphic designer, where he spearheaded the creation of short comedic commercials and helped to establish a filmmaking class. Marlin's interest in documentaries led him to produce over 200 productions, including a pilot for a scenic exploration show and a stake youth trek documentary that became an official film festival selection. Some of his greatest documentary film experiences have come as he has consecrated his time and talents to serve in his ward and stake. One impactful project was a documentary about the Nauvoo Temple mural painters, which also garnered film festival recognition. Currently, Marlin finds fulfillment in filming and editing personal spiritual temple experiences for members of his stake for a series called In the Covenant. Marlin and his wife, Julia, have four sons, 13 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
