This epic adventure left an indelible mark on Mikkel's life, fostering a spirit of exploration and camaraderie. And gave him an entirely new understanding of gratefulness. However, tragedy struck in 2022 when Torbjørn lost his life in a heartbreaking incident—an explosion from a roadside bomb while cycling in Iraq. Despite this devastating loss, Mikkel's adventurous spirit endured, determined to honor his friend's memory.
