Traditional Fundamentals This lecture introduces the course with a brief overview of traditional astrology and criticisms of it; discusses the classical notion of sect and how it separates horoscopes into two distinct groups (nocturnal and diurnal) to which according to tradition, two different sets of rules apply; and finally, classifies the planets elementally according to the understanding of the Greek Philosopher Empedocles 2.
