Very often youngsters with autism can be toe walkers due to their sensory and vestibular needs.  It can be a worry as they get older because as they become heavier, there is difficulty balancing when trying to do every day tasks like bending down to pick something up and if you are teetering on your tip toes, there's a real risk of falling over and hurting themselves.
