Back to Love (Athenaeum, Hacienda & Home Nightclub Classics)(Part 1 - The Athenauem 1993/1994) - Mixed by Mark Anthony (December 2020) Finishing the year 2020 with a selection of my personal favorites from back in the day. For me 1993 & 1994 were 2 of the best years musically with so many of the tracks now seen as classics. If you lived in Manchester you probably use to start your weekend at the 'Atheneaum' which was easily the best pre-clubbing venue ever. The resident DJ's there were Planet Janet (aka Guy Williams & partner) and if I remember correctly Allister Whitehead was also a regular guest. Week after week these guys provided musical entertainment that was just beyond perfection. It was just a shame it had to close at 11 pm due to the licensing laws back then. I had the privilege of DJ'ing there about 5 times between 1994 and 1995 and the place holds many special memories. This mix features some of the tracks that ended up being my personal favorites from 'The Athenaeum'. Every track has a place in my heart and brings back fond memories of those special moments in time.
