In advance of election day, which is on Tuesday June 22nd, Brie spoke to two progressive candidates. First, she spoke to Art Chang -- a Bernie-voting son of Korean immigrants who grew up in Jim Crow Atlanta. He's running on universal childcare, revitalizing the arts, and automating social safety-net benefits. Brie asks him about his private/public background, and why those lefties who have been burned by Andrew Yang's corporate pivot shouldn't be wary of his corporate roots. Next, she spoke to rapper and community organizer Paperboy Love Prince, who received more votes from New York City residents than almost anyone in the race when they ran for congress against a 26 year incumbent last year, winning 20% of the vote. (They also won more votes than AOC in her congressional primary). Come for rap lyrics about Eric Adams, stay for the substantive analysis of what working class New Yorkers are going through, and what Paper plans to do to help.
