As promised on Instagram, in this episode I'm going to go through the stunning September issue of British Vogue, with THE supermodel, Linda Evangelista on the cover. For this shoot, the Canadian super reunited with equally iconic photographer Steven Meisel, to create some truly fantastical images. But, as a photographer and a Linda fan, I've been torn about this shoot. Because while Linda looks stunning, a lot has been done to turn back time, to show us a Linda that existed decades ago. It's not that retouching in itself is the problem; but, when viewed alongside the interview with the supermodel, where she expresses that she no longer wants to see herself in a mirror, the images bring up a troubling disconnect.  So in this episode I break down what makes a September issue so special, who the Big Five of modelling were back in the '90s and then hone in on the efforts made to create what is undoubtedly a dreamy love letter to an iconic fashion figure.
