The rapper known as Mase is best remembered as Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs’ favorite sidekick -- a guy who earned his spot on the Bad Boy label through a series of popular guest collaborations with other rappers. In fact, by the time he dropped his debut album, “Harlem World”, Mase was already a bonafide star. Sure, his flow might have been a bit more relaxed than your average MC, and yes, his raps were often questioned for their startling simplicity, but the man carved out a lane for himself and stuck to it... right up to the point where he decided to abandon his second studio album to pursue a career as a Christian Minister.
