Beyond Poker - A podcast by Nick Howard

In this clip, I unpack parts therapy and how you can use it as a poker player. Parts therapy is otherwise known as Internal Family systems or IFS. It is an increasingly popular therapy model that seems to work for many poker players, specifically guys who have a hard time contacting emotion. In the parts therapy model, the mind is divided up into certain subpersonalities or parts, each part with its own unique viewpoint and qualities. I think it's getting these parts out in front of you in a way that's externalized, giving each one a narrative, and learning how to work with the desires and intentions and viewpoints of each part. That seems to be what really moves the needle for people who have not had awareness over some of these subconscious narratives up until now. I give you these frameworks in this clip. I hope you guys enjoy and find a way to apply them in a way that gets you immediate upgrades.
