Justin Swensen is the Program Director at Kokua Recovery, a residential treatment program for teenagers located in Greeley Colorado. Justin and your host, Aaron Huey, discuss the benefits of Wilderness Therapy and how integrating the important lessons from these programs into a residential treatment center can help teens positively adapt and grow in ways they never knew possible!Justin brings more than 15 years’ experience as a mental health professional in wilderness and adventure therapy to his current position as the Program Director at Kokua Recovery. Utilizing his unique skill set, Justin has helped to develop a robust wilderness adventure component as part of Kokua Recovery. He also has a background in various art mediums which has been an inspiration to creating an art program like none other in residential treatment. Justin earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Prescott College in Therapeutic Use of Adventure Education with an emphasis on psychology and a minor in art and design.
