Ever heard of an artist by the name of Sofonisba Anguissola? Yeah neither had we! Neither had my art-educated friends! Turns out she was a very gifted artist of the renaissance period. As a woman she wasn’t allowed to make money from her art, but it sounds like she did pretty ok for herself. And you know how the Royal portraits are often really unflattering?
