Episode 45 of FRI presented by Inertia Movement brings music of Japan, in a first episode dedicated to the country’s greatest musicians. We continue the journey of 2025 in the spirit of local interdependence. The crate started from records collected from the local shops in Bucharest such as 2 Sides Records who do an amazing thing curating good Japanese music. Some great music from Phew’s electronic punk, Yukio Fujimoto’s underground electronics, saxophonist Yasuaki Shimizu and the great Yellow Magic Orchestra. Music from 2 avant-garde labels: Lawrence English’s Room 40 from Australia and 901 Editions from Italy. Music from Marginal Consort who create a fantastic noise with classical instruments and quadrophonic approach in their recent live shows. They’re rare to view. From Ciprian: “I had the chance 2 years ago participating in a more than 4 hrs marathon on noise improvisation, a fantastic meditation with sounds. They’re amazing!” Yukio Fujimoto composed his music with some low budget sequencers and iconic synthesizers: “Korg MS-20, a Korg SQ-10, a Boss Dr. Rhythm DR-55, and…a Texas Instruments Speak & Spell”.
