This episode features a tribute to Terror Danjah, who sadly passed away on the 11th of February this year. Revered producer Rodney Pryce, AKA Terror Danjah, is considered one of the greatest producers in grime’s history. He helped shape the genre in its nascent years, starting out as a member of N.A.S.T.Y. Crew and producing beats for MCs such as D Double E, Ghetts, Jammer and Kano. Pryce’s music soon found its way onto some of the most important labels of the era, including Hyperdub, Planet Mu and his own Hardrive Records, while his work with soul singers like Shola Ama and All Saints’ Shaznay Lewis helped bring grime into the mainstream. Alongside artists like DaVinChe and Scratcha DVA, Pryce was also a pioneer of R&G, a sub-genre that combined grime with elements of R&B.
