In today's BOOST Podcast, I chat to Glasgow Underground head honcho Kevin Mckay to get his 3 things to know before starting a record label!

I also chat to Kevin about sampling, streaming, whether the time is right for certain djs to have a label or not and also Kevin Mckay gives his thoughts on whether ContentID is killing Sampling in electronic music.

Kevin McKay, boss of the legendary house label Glasgow Underground, is giving away 300 copies of his forthcoming album ’No Samples Were Harmed  In The Making Of The Record’ to the first 300 people through the door at the album launch party at Mick’s Garage in Hackney Wick on Saturday 21st September. Each will receive a card with a one-off code enabling them to download and listen to the album ahead of its full release on 8th November. The party hosted by disco promoters I Feel Love kicks off at 5pm and carries on through to 3am with non-stop disco, glitter and classics. Entry to the party is free before 8pm, with later tickets available here from just £3 + booking fee.

’No Samples Were Harmed In The Making Of This Record’ came from Kevin  McKay’s frustration at his inability to create new versions and re-edits  of classic house and disco tracks to use in his regular sets

Today we chat about sampling, content id and more.
