07. No Flower Blooms Without Wavering_Do Jong-Hwan

Though the flowers are soaked by day-long rain, their fragrance is not diluted.

On nights when the one I loved grew unlovely, my overflowing heart, that seemed to know nothing of love and more about hate, was so foolish and troubled.

There was no path of pain that I could avoid taking. There were some paths that I ought not to go by and some that I really did not want to walk along, but now, on looking back, having taken all those paths I have arrived here.

What flower blooms without wavering? Even the loveliest flowers in the world always waver as they bloom, waver as they straighten their stems, So what love does not waver as it goes its way?

If the trees standing in rows on the hill are beautiful, it’s on account of the empty space behind the trees which silently embraces them.
