Rapunzel

A poor man takes some lettuce for his wife from a witch’s garden. The evil witch catches him and agrees to let him take as much as he wants as long as he promises to hand over the couple’s baby as soon as it is born. The baby girl is named Rapunzel and the witch takes her away to a tall tower where she must live alone. Over the years the girl’s hair grows very long and eventually reaches right down to the ground. The witch visits Rapunzel every day, climbing up the girl’s golden locks. One day, a prince comes by and hears Rapunzel’s beautiful singing, falling in love with her instantly. Every day he visits the castle and together with Rapunzel, he hatches a plan to free her. Unfortunately, the wicked witch soon discovers their plan. Rapunzel is banished from the tower and the prince falls into a bed of thorns, turning blind.
