1.13 Life's a Pitch! - Tom Hurst talks dragons, differentiation and daiquiris.

In this episode you'll learn how to do an equity pitch like a pro as we talk over-proofs, offers and optimum outcomes with the man who tamed TVs toughest dragons. In the last episode we introduced you to dragon slayer Tom Hurst founder and CEO of Rockstar Spirits,  following his raid on the the incredibly popular enterprise investment based Dragon's Den TV show in the UK. Tom had already caused quite a stir in the UK spirits scene when he had launched his range of over-proof spiced and flavoured rums. His first big break came when presenter Holly Willoughby couldn't hide her delight when trying his "Pineapple Grenade"  live on This Morning. Doubling down on traditional media Tom then took to the Dragons Den looking to make the perfect pitch. We hear how he honed his technique, who he was really targeting before he entered the den and what really goes on behind the scenes. We also welcome another guest to our "Desert Island" where they can choose to bring only one drink with them. This time we hear from the irrepressible Victor Lanson, a Champagne man, born and bred. Victor shoots from the hip as he talks to us about how hard it can be to sell a drink that "sells itself", his experiences of the highs and lows of launching his own brand of bubbly, the loss of 'mad' characters from the Champagne industry. Not only that, Foxy and Will talk about the reaction to our WTF BrewDog? episode, LinkedIn's weird and wonderful professional groups and the meaning of the word "erstwhile".Please take the time to give us a 5 star review on Apple Podcasts.
