Last week we talked about Summer School, a fun light hearted Carl Reiner comedy that follows a band of misfit teens and their gym teach turned Joe Clark Lean On Me educator. But not all 80s summer movies are so sweet and silly. Some children weren't lucky enough to go on Zoo field trips and have parties at their teacher's house, Max. In the heart of the Pacific Northwest four young men were led into the wilderness by a deranged Kevin Bacon and forced to fend for themselves all under the guise of personal growth, adventure, and coming of age shenanigans. This movie would serve as a precursor to Bacon's 2000 Sci-Fi horror film Hollow Man, in that we should have known he was capable of killing a dog. So today, we'll try to understand how Ren went from saving a small town with a senior dance to trying to murder Mikey from The Goonies all while we paddle our way downstream chatting about the classic summer film, White Water Summer.
