She was raised in Houston and attended the High School for the Visual and Performing Arts. She is best known for her role as Karin Lane opposite Brad Pitt in the blockbuster hit World War Z, as well as her Golden Globe Emmy, and Critics Choice Award nominated role as Detective Sarah Linden on The Killing.  Mireille has starred in well-known films such as Miranda’s Victim and The Lie. She was also in the action thriller Hanna, the Good Omens series, and the HBO drama, Big Love. She is presently starring in the series Lucky Hank, opposite Bob Odenkirk. On stage, Mireille starred in the revival of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, for which she received a Tony nomination for Best Featured Actress.
