I first heard him speak at UCLA during a Muslim Student Association event and was amazed at just how calm and kind he was. He is always available to answer any question helping others reconnect with their faith especially as a Chaplain at many different universities. He converted to Islam in college where he also met his wife. Shaykha Muslema Purmul, an inspirational leader in our Ummah. Together they run The Majlis. It is a beautiful space in Orange County grounded in the love of Allah (SWT) with many programs to connect different members of our Ummah.
