He joined The Farm community in south-central Tennessee in 1976, which was a pioneer in developing and using optimal vegan diets for children and adults of all ages. He became publisher of Book Publishing Company (BPC), The Farm’s publishing business, in 1985 and has carried on the company’s tradition of leadership in the fields of vegan cooking and nutrition and natural health since that time. In 1975, BPC published the first completely vegan cookbook in the US and created many of the first titles available on using tofu and tempeh and for pregnant and new vegan moms. Bob still lives on The Farm with his wife, adult children and their spouses, and four grandchildren and is highly respected in the publishing and natural foods businesses for his continued dedication to his work on behalf of vegans and vegetarians.
