Mothers are dying giving birth

It should have been the best of days for Kenny and Seveny Fuchu. After years of trying, Seveny got pregnant, and now she was in labor. Seveny gave birth to a healthy child that day. But she didn’t survive the birth – and father and son went home alone. The same tragedy strikes hundreds of American families every year. The rate of maternal mortality continues to rise in the US as outcomes improve in other advanced countries.
