"Soylent Green" 1973 is an intense film depicting a grim and dangerous world of the future. The movie has multiple levels of drama and intrigue including murder, famine, overpopulation and authoritarian rule over people. Director Richard Fleischer creates a vision of despair as oceans die and the environment deteriorates. Mr. Fleischer has built another excellent film in his long line of movies including "The Narrow Margin" 1952 - Episode 75 and "Fantastic Voyage" 1966 - Episode 13. Charlton Heston is NYPD Detective Frank Thorn, Sol Roth "Book" played by Edward G. Robinson in his last film role, Leigh Taylor-Young as Shirl, Chuck Connors as Tab, Brock Peters as Hatcher, Joseph Cotton as William Simonson, Paula Kelly as Martha and other cast members all inhabit believable characters that make this a must see film. "Soylent Green" stands the test of time and we thank our guest and Patreon member Arthur Sculco for his selection of this film.
