Michael A. Muller’s meditative debut album Lower River explores the place where space, time, and self are occluded; a study in hearing versus listening and engaging with sounds that challenge what music ought to be. On 22 September 2023, the Balmorhea co-founder’s full-length solo album—originally released in 2019—will be reissued digitally by Deutsche Grammophon. The release will be followed on 20 October by DG’s reissue of Lower River Reworks, a companion album featuring re-imaginings of Muller’s tracks by specially commissioned artists. Each album has also been exclusively expanded, with the new track “Glyph III” added to Lower River and a new version of “Recedes” from German master minimalist Alva Noto added to Lower River Reworks. Masayoshi Fujita ReworkNew Symmetry - Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch ReworkGlyph I - Marcus Fischer ReworkHeather Woods Broderick, Elan Green - Seen - Saariselka ReworkGlyph II - Julia Kent ReworkElyria - Daigo Hanada ReworkFixed Shadow - David Moore & Bing & Ruth ReworkRecedes - Duane Pitre ReworkRecedesHelp support our show by purchasing this album  at:Downloads (classicalmusicdiscoveries.store) Classical Music Discoveries is sponsored by Uber. @CMDHedgecock#ClassicalMusicDiscoveries #KeepClassicalMusicAlive#CMDGrandOperaCompanyofVenice #CMDParisPhilharmonicinOrléans#CMDGermanOperaCompanyofBerlin#CMDGrandOperaCompanyofBarcelonaSpain#ClassicalMusicLivesOn#Uber#AppleClassical Please consider supporting our show, thank you!Donate (classicalmusicdiscoveries.store) [email protected] This album is broadcasted with the permission of Crossover Media Music Promotion (Zachary Swanson and Amanda Bloom).
