A deeper exploration of the ego & an introduction to the shadow with Kim Nataraja

Kim Nataraja is a much loved and respected teacher in the community. Her book Dancing With Your Shadow aligns the spiritual and psychological dimensions of meditation and how they are strongly interwoven. In this series of talks she draws on the wisdom of her earlier work as it has further deepened over the years. Kim uses her book as a way of helping people to make sense of this experience of the crisis we’re passing through and the importance of a spiritual path that we can follow, or deepen through this time of uncertainty and suffering. This podcast includes talk 3 and 4 of this series. In the third talk, Kim takes us on a reflection on the ego starting off with exploring a certain reluctance of many neuroscientists to accept that there are other fields of consciousness we can tune into. it's a fear coming from the ego, fear of the unknown, the ego fears how to behave. In the fourth talk, Kim introduces the shadow and continues her exploration into the ego. "The ego is another positive force, of energy. Our rational logical mind that tries to make sense of all that wee experience and learn. But all we have to do is widen its field of experience. Meditation enhances our power of attention that allows us to switch from our rational mind to the intuitive spiritual mind."
