Churchill Downs should divest Arlington Park to an owner that will operate it as a racino, Illinois Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association president Michael Campbell wrote in a recent Crain’s op-ed. He argued that a casino would enhance the venue’s appeal, bolster live racing by driving more dollars into purses, and support the interests of taxpayers by growing jobs and generating more revenue for the state.
