The United States will be sending 100 to 200 troops to Taiwan, which would increase U.S. troop presence on the island nation by close to four times. While the initial increase is relatively small compared to the 20,000 U.S. troops now being stationed in Europe, the increase marks a new step in potential commitment to defend against the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Meanwhile, global alliances are now forming around the conflict in Ukraine.
