What is Voice in Writing?

If you’re a writer, you’ve heard of “voice.” Normally, we think of voice as something that’s showcased on shows like American Idol. But that’s not the only place it’s important. It’s also really important for writing an interesting piece of writing that people actually want to read. So what is it? How do you develop it? You don’t need to “find” it because you can’t really lose it, (even if you get a bad case of laryngitis).
