San Diego Homebrew Summer

At Ballast Point, our roots stem from the love of homebrewing. This year we had the opportunity to sponsor the annual San Diego Homebrew Brew Summer! Twelve local breweries shared a beer recipe that homebrewers could make at home and homebrewers sent out recipes for breweries to replicate. To get some insight into the Homebrew Summer series we sat down with the founder of San Diego Beer News, Brandon Hernandez; Five Suits Brewing owner, Nick Corona; and Quaff member, Jared Rowley. Brandon describes the thought process behind creating this inclusive experience. Nick talks about his love for collaboration with others in the beer industry and his experience recreating one of the Homebrew Summer homebrewer’s recipes. Jared, one of the homebrewers whose recipe was recreated, explains the excitement of being nominated and the wonderful experience he had working with local professional brewers and homebrewers.
