My guest today is Ravinder BhogalKenyan born, raised in the UK by Indian parents, Ravinder Bhogal is one of the UK’s most successful food writers, restaurateurs and chefs. Calling her food and menus “proudly inauthentic”, Ravinder’s work and food spans flavours and culinary traditions from the Asia, The Middle East, East Africa and Britain – celebrating the idea of immigrant cuisine.She opened her first restaurant Jikoni in Marylebone in 2016 and it quickly became a roaring success, collecting culinary accolades, such as being placed in the Michelin Guide within its first year as well as collecting regular clients with whom Ravinder and team get to know well – giving the restaurant a real neighbourhood feel.Ravinder’s latest book comes from a lockdown idea, where her and her husband began making meals for front-line workers in London, named Comfort & Joy.
