Margie Warrell: You've Got This - Decoding The Art Of Inner Trust
DNA Of Purpose - A podcast by Rebecca Maklad

Welcome to another episode of the Decoding Purpose Podcast - This series is the Turning Point where we are unlocking tools, tips and insights to help you to better navigate this pandemic with purpose. Now, today's guest is an interesting one...because I honestly feel like the message of today’s guest was somehow miraculously put on my path, at the perfect moment in time. A few weeks ago I was stumbling off a plane in the Gold Coast when a book jumped off the shelf at me at the airport. The book was titled ‘You’ve Got this’ and given my state of play at that point in time was juggling my laptop and phone, an oversized duffle bag, with a hungry two-year-old on my hip - I needed some reassurance that somehow - someone or something had my back.I also knew that I had to track down the author of this book for this podcast, because if there is anything I know about living a life of purpose is that it will challenge you. It will ask you to grow, to surrender, to have grit and to rise in ways you may not have thought possible. And if you don't trust yourself or have your own back in that process, you are powerless in the pursuit of purpose. The message was poignant. So once I read the book (and scribbled notes down on every page), I tracked down the author of what I would call a purpose bible - and we connected via Facebook. Her name - Margie Warrell - who along with You've Got This is also the author of Train the Brave, Make Your Mark, Stop Playing Safe and Find Your Courage. As you can imagine Margie is a woman passionate about encouraging people to lead braver and more purposeful lives, and has years of credibility behind her as a professional speaker. She also has drawn on background in Fortune 500 business, coaching and psychology to equip people with the mindset, strategies and skills to lead themselves and others to better outcomes. Margie has been described as an ‘international authority on brave leadership’ by the Wall Street Journal….and I definitely agree with that statement - however over the last few weeks even Margie herself has levelled up her bravery skills.See that's the funny thing about timing. I mentioned before discovering Margie's book at the Gold coast airport. That happened to be the week before the COVID-19 Wave hit not only Australia, but also Singapore where Margie lives. As we had connected on Facebook, over the following weeks, I had been seeing videos pop up from Margie sharing with us that her husband Andrew was hospitalised in Singapore with Covid-19 and that Margie herself was in quarantine. Her video diaries were raw and real, yet despite the personal crises she was dealing with, she still managed to create purpose-driven narrative showcasing the bold and brave spirit that she is. Who despite facing this crisis at such a deeply personal level, was still in the space of purpose in pushing through such a gruelling time. And that is what makes today's interview so special….because not only did we unpack her fantastic book - but we unpacked it in the context of the most uncertain times over the last century….why? Because in This Turning Point - even though it's hard, and even though we can't quite see the end, and even though there are still so many people around the world fighting this virus. Our thoughts are with you, and in whatever way you can, dig deep. It's not easy, but You've Got This.Welcome to the podcast - Margie Warrell.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
