The Homeless World Cup

Mexico City's Zócalo hosts teams from around the globe for the 2018 Homeless World Cup. They may be struggling at the moment, but these players are getting a hand making their goals happen on and off the field. We interview Reed Fox, a program manager at Street Soccer USA and U.S. director of the Homeless World Cup, and Pedro Roberts, a player in New York. Shawn Stein, associate professor of Spanish and Portuguese at Dickinson College, tells us about his quixotic journey to find "ficción futbolera" in Latin America. His resulting anthology includes themes of social justice through the lens of soccer.
