059 Sean Kenney: missing out on WoSFL then taking Kilbride Thistle to Ardeer plus why he hopes Billy Gilmour starts for Scotland

SEAN KENNEY couldn’t take his Kilbride Thistle side into the West of Scotland League - so he took them to Ardeer instead. Kenney had hoped to get Kilbride into the division being created for new teams. But when that didn’t happen he jumped at the chance to move to struggling Stevenston-based Ardeer two weeks ago. He’s taken his squad and staff with him en masse and they’ll now line up in Conference B. Sean joins us this week and tells us why things panned out at Kilbride the way they did and his plans for rejuvenating Ardeer on AND off the park. We look BACK at his time at Kilbride, where he will also stay on as the chairman. But perhaps that should be no surprise. Since injury forced him to retire as a player at the age of 25 he’s been a coach, scout, assistant boss, manager and president. Plus, on the night the Euros start, Sean gives us the inside track on local hero Billy Gilmour and his old man – and tells us why he should start against the Czech Republic. It’s all here as we go Down The Divisions. We'd like to give a quick mention to our sponsors FortyFour Creative.
