Cindy has been overweight most of her life and had gastric bypass in 2007 after reaching almost 300 lbs. She lost about 90 lbs, getting to about 210 lbs, which did not last, as Cindy was being told to switch to whole grain breads and pastas, brown rice, sweet potatoes, etc.  Cindy had been having trouble with her knees and in 2014 had her right knee replaced. It went great until October of 2017 when she had her second knee replaced, and that did not go so well. Two infections set in, one a staph infection. After two more surgeries and 9 months on antibiotics, finally all was ok, or so she thought.  Shortly after, she had serious swelling in both ankles, into her feet and toes, had a bilateral deep vein ultrasound resulting in diagnosis of Primary and Secondary Lymphedema. Treatment was compression socks and she takes a diuretic for the edema.  In 2020, her sister had researched different "diets" and found keto. After a lot of persistence Cindy started keto. She started out at 270 lbs and has lost 90+ lbs thus far. She wears the compression socks daily, and her way of eating has geared more towards ketovore/carnivore. She can honestly say when she eats too many vegetables she feels somewhat bloated, so they are very limited. She feels great and can now take walks without pain!
