Fluticasone is an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS). Some of the brand names are Flovent and Arnuity Ellipta. This drug is a potent local vasoconstrictor as well as an anti-inflammatory agent. The main indication is in the treatment of asthma with off label uses in COPD and EoE. Dosing is based on prior ICS treatment and/or level of severity. The furoate form is generally preferred over the propionate form due to a better binding affinity. The main side effect and counseling point is for oral candidiasis (Thrush).
