DumTeeDum - A show about BBC Radio's 'The Archers' - A podcast by Roifield Brown - Sundays

Categories:

DumTeeDum has been on a slight diet this week as it shrinks down to 76min. Proper acknowledgement is made of the contribution by Alan Devereux as Sid Perks by Roifield and I would add my personal recollection of the first ever Ambridge two hander when Kathy (Hedli Niklaus) challenged him on over the affair with Jolene in the Rovers Bar late one evening, when she was the last person in the village to know. Compelling listening. There is some allegation that this TA week was a bit "bitty" but clearly the team are going round tidying up loose ends and setting up a new shape to the village and covering a lot of stories. This is how The Archers should be done and we should welcome this return almost to form, even if Lynda is perhaps showing some odd traits. The class comparisons were strong this week as Kaz asked if Helen was posh! Much continuing discussion over the relationship between Justin and Lilian by many contributors.Lucy's monologue provided a strong opening and the best bit of the week for me was Susan getting entirely the wrong end of Pat asking her if she could manage some time in the shop. What I did not understand was why an ORGANIC shop should be stocking venison from Home Farm!Kosmo was accused of not sticking to the point. In my defence I reckon that Freddie is going off the rails because he does not have a father figure.Tuesday was episode 18,000 according to The Archers, but the TA podcast was numbered 17,999 - so the counting is a bit duff somewhere.Lucy recommended: Stuart: A Life Backwards by Alexander Mastershttps://www.amazon.co.uk/Stuart-Life-Backwards-Alexander-Masters/dp/0007200374Roifield did it all from Canada Land on his iphone. Lucy promises not to gloat when Miranda finds out and it all goes wrong for Lilian!KosmoOn this week’s episode we have calls from Goddess Deeva who’s still Team LilianVicky from Cambridge who isn’t Claire who wants to celebrate SusanJan from Can with an update to the Elderflower Cordial Retail Price IndexYokelbear who says thank God for the GrundiesJacqueline Bertho who thinks Susan deserves to shriveland Witherspoon who has a warning for Lilian.
