Ep: 128 - The Trial!

DumTeeDum - A show about BBC Radio's 'The Archers' - A podcast by Roifield Brown - Sundays

Lucy painted an alternative portrait of the week (including Sunday's jury discussions) outside Ambridge; packed with more jokes than there were jurors. Also far more villagers in the court than reported by the original microphones.More calls than ever as this phase of the story climaxes. Some were made before the verdict and some afterwards - so it is mixed bag of predictions and celebrations as the callerinerers reflect on an extra lengthy week nearly all from the Crown Court.Roifield also salutes the departing editor and in the sense that as editor he has garnered an immense number of column inches this is justified. However some of us feel that there has also been a distortion (possibly a perversion) of our regular drama and this is hard to forgive especially if the new won listeners prove hard to retain in calmer waters. Even Roifield expressed some concern over the sudden jump to a verdict in the trial episode which was simply outrageously foreshortened and again unworthy of the story cycle which was based on "Twelve Angry Men".Usha confusion also reigns over property. Usha owns Blossom Hill and Helen stands to inherit nothing after Peggy changed her will to treat Tony fairly and merely hoped that he would pass the Lodge onto Helen.Roifield also hopes that the ban on cast members talking to DumTeeDum will be lifted by the new editor and seeks the 30,000 podcast listeners to bombard the BBC to get the bar lifted as part of developing The Archers community.Lucy needed to go and put the dinner on - so time to go - but they will be back next week.KosmoOn this week’s episode we have calls fromTitian73 who wants silence in courtIolanthe Rosa who thinks Pat’s due a u turn Dusty Substances who wants Rob deadJo Jo Sexy Heels who’s cheering Nigel New York Nigel who thinks it’s been over-eggedKat Brown who’s having a heart attackClaire who’s ecstaticYokelbear whose nerves have been wrackedAunty Jean who’s gloatingNosila who’s heart has brokenMiss Mid City whose eyebrows are raisedJacquie who thinks Charlie’s on his wayWitherspoon who gives the actors applauseSara Browne who’s been shushingSteve who has ears like a lynxLady Garf Garf who’s had it with ShulaGoddess Deeva who’s over-tired and over-excitedandOlivia Ellery who wrecked the porridge Hosted on Acast.
