This episode is based on the findings of carbon footprint audits completed on 185 beef and sheep farms through the Farming Connect Advisory Service. The purpose of this short study was to summarize the results of these inspections completed in 2022 in order to extract useful figures that will give insight into the current situation in terms of the carbon footprint of beef and sheep farms in Wales. A Farming Connect study on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions produced by red meat enterprises has shown that Welsh farms are below the benchmark for similar farms across the UK.
